Steve Mcnair-A Fallen Hero

This was written by my husband when we heard about the tragic death of Steve Mcnair.

Steve McNair - Fallen Hero
Published: 07/04/2009 by Music City Editor

Steve McNair is truly a fallen hero. He's my hero, he's my dad's hero. Always a true champion, and had the heart of a lion. He was tough as nails, and determined to win, and did a bunch of it. For years I sat in the south end zone and watched his winning ways, his awesome arm, and his unstoppable running.

I've seen him flipped upside down in the end zone, and I've seen him get back up. I've seen him play hurt. I've seen him throw spectacular passes, and I've seen him throw a few bad ones. From my perspective, and I know many share this sentiment, he just showed class. On the field or off it, he was a classy gentlemen.

My sales manager was fortunate enough to obtain his autograph just this past Wednesday. I have it on my own business card, and I'll treasure it with the highest regard. Who knows if it was the last one he gave someone. We were talking with him about profiling his new restaurant that he just opened on Jefferson Street in Nashville. That's simply a foregone conclusion now.

I want to take this opportunity to wish his family my best, and let them know I will pray for them. Sometime life doesn't seem all that fair. For Steve McNair to be dead, it mystifies me how someone could shoot him, with all he's done for this town, and him being a local hero. Who could have done this? The sanctity of life it seems meant nothing to whomever fired that fatal shot. I pray that they are quickly apprehended and are brought to justice.

I've never seen anyone leave it all on the football field quite like Steve McNair. I wish that it could never happen, but in reality the world doesn't operate on our wishes. If anyone deserved a retirement, it was Steve. He played hard, had a tremendous career, and will always be loved, revered and remembered by the city of Nashville, and especially me, and my dad, two of his biggest fans period.

Again, my prayers go out to the McNair family, and his sons who are now deprived of their father, a great man, and I'm certain a great dad. This is truly a local tragedy, and our local hero Steve McNair deserved better than to be gunned down in cold blood. He earned the respect from the fans, the city of Nashville, and everybody that's playing or ever played in the NFL.

Senseless violence never makes any sense, and McNair's death truly saddens me with a burden on my heart.

Steve I know that you have gone on to a much better place.

I love you.

Be Blessed

If you are feeling troubled just read this passage. Have a blessed day...
This is from my favorite book:"The Holy Bible"

"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of sympathy (pity and mercy) and the God (who is the Source) of every comfort and consolation and encouragement. Who comforts and consoles and encourages us in every trouble and calamity and affliction, so that we may also be able to comfort and console and encourage those who are in any kind of trouble or distress, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God."

II Corinthians 1: 3,4
Amplified Bible

This (below) is from another place I visit for comfort and christian friendship www.transformationgarden.com this will be a favorite place if you visit.

A Friend in Need

"Lord, I am hurting.
I feel like a tree
with its roots laid bare.
Suddenly there seems to be no support
and I don't know what to do about it.

I know that adversity builds character,
but that's tomorrow's story
and it has no meaning for now.
What I need, Lord, is a friend.

Choose my friend carefully.
Please, no one who's going to tell me
how to put my life straight,
no amateur analyst or teacher,
no preacher, no well-meaning person
who is going to "should" all over me.

I want someone to come in the door
with a smile and a big warm hug
to let me know I'm valuable
just as I am.
There'll be no advice,
no expectation of change.
My friend will already know
that pain is important in journey
and must be travelled through.
My friend will stay beside me
and hold my hand
while I make my own discoveries.

And then, when all this is over,
Lord help me to remember two things:
To say "Thank you,"
and to be a friend
with a big warm hug
to someone else in pain."

I saw this on another site but the words are so true!
"Lord, hour by hour,
Be Thou my Guide,
That, by Thy power,
No step may slide."

Money or Free?

Hey wouldn't it be great if our brilliant Government could come up with a solution to people being homeless and car less? The world has so many empty homes and empty cars that if they just "GAVE" every family a home and a car there would still be empty houses and cars left over. That would also help people who couldn't get a job with out a home/car get one. So the jobless rate would go down. If anyone wanted a second car or home of course they would have to buy it. That way cars dealers still make money and so do Home Builders! Just a thought!

Money, who needs it?

I am so tired of needing money! My daughter ask me the other day "Why do we need money why can't things be free or Trade for things the way we used to?" She is only 13 years old and already so sick of hearing about the economy being in such a mess. She goes on and on about how things would be so much better if people could Trade again for items needed than we wouldn't be in such a mess. You know what, she is right. If you look at all the futuristic shows on TV money is non existent on a-lot of them. They do Trading or just give stuff away.

Dear God

I pray for all who visit my site. Everyone is different yet we are so much alike .
We all require food, water, shelter, clothing but the most important, is you dear God,we all need YOU!
Without you in our lives we would be like a raft, floating in the middle of the ocean without a paddle not knowing which way to go. You dear God are our raft. You guide us through every aspect of our life guiding us with your strength and love. I know no matter what happens in my life all the ups and downs and waves and hurricanes of life my raft will be safe because you are guiding it, you God are my life raft. Thank you God for loving me and for loving all of your children in this world. I pray for the souls of the people that are on those rafts of life without you dear God they are lost in this storm of life and I pray they will see your Light House and come back to you dear God. I don't want to see anyone drown in this life. I pray for their souls to be saved.
Amen.
